6/08/2010 Golden Corral Raises Nearly $24,000 For CMN and UMC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EL PASO, TX – (June 7, 2010) – Three El Paso Golden Corral restaurants have raised a total of $23,501 for Children’s Miracle Network Representatives of the restaurants will present a check to Children's Miracle Network Advisory Council on June 9 at 11:30 a.m., in the board room of University Medical Center Foundation, 1400 Hardaway Drive. “Miracle Kid” Roberto Salcido will be present.

“Since 2008, Golden Corral in El Paso has nearly quadrupled its fundraising for Children's Miracle Network,” says Dennece Knight, Executive Director of University Medical Center Foundation. “We are very grateful for their support of this program that benefits so many children in our community.”  A national partner of Children's Miracle Network, Golden Corral restaurants throughout the nation raise funds primarily through the sale of $1 “Miracle Balloons.”  All funds raised in El Paso stay in our community to provide medical care, research, and education for critically ill and injured children at University Medical Center.    

University Medical Center Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to develop and support programs that promote the health, wellness and quality of life for all El Pasoans, to serve unmet needs, and to improve patient outcomes. University Medical Center of El Paso is the area's designated Children's Miracle Network hospital until the completion of the new El Paso Children’s Hospital in 2012.
