11/03/2010 UMC Foundation Volunteer Corps Scare Up Halloween Decorations

Halloween decorations.University Medical Center Foundation Volunteers put a frightful touch to all the floors at University Medical Center. UMC Foundation Volunteer Corps Manager Ceci Villa Ross and volunteers from Verizon Wireless caravanned to UMC to ghoulishly deck out the hospital just in time for Halloween.

From the radiology department to the pediatric floor, volunteers adorned desks, waiting areas, and the pediatric playroom with spooky spiders and things that go bump in the night.  “It’s tough to work or be sick around the holidays. At least this way, we can help employees and patients celebrate”, said Ms. Villa Ross.

Associates have taken notice of the spooky décor. “It was nice to see the PICU decorated, and I noticed it on all the floors. It’s cool,” said Lourdes Cobos, who works with the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team.

Ceci says, eight holidays a year, the University Medical Center Foundation Volunteer Corps will be there to dress up the hospital in holiday spirit.

If you would like to help decorate, or would like to be a volunteer, please contact Ceci Villa Ross via email at cvillaross@umcelpaso.org or call 521-7229 ext.2991.
