6/28/2011 University Medical Center Foundation Announces Grant from Walter H. Hightower Foundation to Provide Orthopedic Surgical Table for El Paso Children's Hospital

UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES GRANT FROM WALTER H. HIGHTOWER FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE ORTHOPEDIC SURGICAL TABLE FOR EL PASO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

University Medical Center Foundation announced a $158,017 grant award by the Walter H. Hightower Foundation, a fund managed by El Paso Community Foundation, for the purchase of a Mizuhosi orthopedic surgical table for El Paso Children’s Hospital. The pediatric surgical table will enable the Children’s Hospital to serve children who have orthopedic disabilities, diseases of the musculoskeletal system and a wide variety of orthopedic needs.

Pediatric service lines at the University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) have undergone a dramatic expansion in preparation for the move to the Children’s Hospital in early 2012. With this critical piece of equipment pediatric orthopedic surgeons at El Paso Children’s Hospital can provide state of the art corrective surgery for children with orthopedic disabilities.
