UMC Foundation Funds EVL System for Endoscopy Center

UMC Foundation purchased an NvisionVLE (Volumetric Laser Endomicroscopy) system for UMC's Center of Excellence for Diagnostic and Advanced Endoscopy.

This equipment will enable UMC gastroenterologists and physicians enrolled in our gastroenterology fellowship program to identify and treat esophageal cancer precursors such as Barrett's esophagus as well as squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma deep in the mucosa where cancer is hard to find.

This equipment will be used in the advanced training of gastroenterology fellows at UMC's Center of Excellence for Diagnostic and Advanced Endoscopy and will also support research conducted by the fellows and physician faculty.
