ZTEX Construction Donates $6,200 to UMC Foundation's Medication Assistance Fund

UMC Foundation’s Volunteer Corp’s Medication Assistance Program helps many patients faced with the hard decision of whether to buy groceries or purchase their prescriptions. Thanks to ZTEX Construction who recently presented a check for $6,200 to benefit the Medication Assistance Fund, hundreds of patients in need help with prescriptions.

“We started with employee donations,” said Priscila Rodriguez, Marketing Director for ZTEX Construction . “Then we promoted it through email blasts and social media and vendors started sending checks. Richard Ortiz, owner of ZTEX Construction generously matched everything, too. Our goal was $4,000,” said Rodriguez, “but we surpassed it by $2,200!”

Lorena Aguilera, Clinic Nurse Manager at UMC Ysleta Clinic said because of the ZTEX Construction donation, patients will be able to get medications for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and pain. “We work closely with the pharmacy,” she said, “who gives the program a discounted price. Over 800 lives will be impacted by this donation.”
