UMC Presents V.I. Pink: A Benefit for Sobreviviendo el Cancer with Special Guest, Estela Casas
El Paso, Texas (October 9, 2019) –In celebration of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, UMC Foundation will host V.I. Pink, a benefit for Sobreviviendo el Cancer/Surviving Cancer Program, Thursday, Oct. 10 at EPIC Railyard Event Center at 5:30 pm.
Guest Speaker, Estela Casas, will speak on her journey as a breast cancer survivor and will show a compelling video of her experience during diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
“The Sobreviviendo el Cancer/Surviving Cancer Program provides short-term financial support to under-insured and low-income cancer patients at the Estela Casas Infusion Center for Hope and healing at University Medical Center,” said Ms. Casas. “We are here to help women and their families meet some of those challenges.”
Proceeds for V.I. Pink cover co-pays, transportation, medications and much more for breast cancer patients in our own community who are in danger of falling out of their cancer care regimen due to lack of resources.
Since 2009, more than 63,000 oncology patients have received treatment at University Medical Center of El Paso’s Infusion Center. Each year more than 1,600 breast cancer fighters are treated there.
