University Medical Center serves one out of every two El Pasoans offering an unprecedented donor impact. Today’s 394 licensed bed academic research and teaching hospital, UMC is a three-time designee as one of America’s Top 100 hospitals and provides El Pasoans with a full array of services:

Emergency/Trauma, Surgical, Intensive Care, Hematology/Oncology, Orthopedic, Cardiology, Neurology/Stroke, Geriatrics, Mother/Baby, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy Services, Rehab and more. Six UMC Neighborhood Healthcare Centers, located throughout the city, provide primary care and specialty referral with close-to-home convenience.

Improve the advancement of medical care from UMC’s centers and departments whether it is by using HALO ablation technology to dramatically decrease and prevent esophageal cancer or a Transcranial Doppler Probe known as “the doctor’s stethoscope of the brain “and the BrainScope that replaces a C.T. scan and gives a concussion prognosis in 5 to 6 minutes.

Improve the patient experience. With the Hana Orthopedic Table, surgeons approach the hip with one single incision, making recovery faster or the Nine Point VLE unit that leads to improved diagnosis and the Prime X-Big Wheel Stretchers for trauma patients who need a supportive mattress and super-fast X-Rays without the patient needing to be moved, reducing risks and injury.
